Trends are constantly changing, and it’s not always easy to keep up with the latest must-haves. Looking for what to wear to weddings, rallies and other events this year? We’ll take a look at the top trends to keep in mind, so you can stand out at all your summer 2024 invitations!

Playing with transparency

Overlay a jumpsuit over a fishnet t-shirt, a loose-knit sweater over a silk dress, or a sheer dress worn with a simple one underneath… Indulge yourself, and combine materials for a sophisticated, original yet classy look.

Knots in the hair

This is the big trend for the 2024 season: big black or colored bows to hold the hair back or, why not, close a pearl necklace.

The timeless pastel

For summer events, pastel is the perfect tone. This timeless palette is always chic, unlike bright colors which, if badly styled, can be garish. For christenings or garden parties, beiges or creams are a much better choice than optical whites. If you’re having trouble deciding between all the shades, blue is always a safe bet; as for parma violet, it’s the hit color of the season!

Maxi prints

Gone are the small flowers prints, now the trend is for very large patterns. Still on a pastel background, but with a wider palette of colors and a few bright touches. You can opt for big flowers, large geometric prints or maxi polka dots for the most daring!

Babies shoes

Good news! These pretty, often varnished, strappy shoes are still very much in vogue! They add elegance to jeans, are the perfect finishing touch to a trouser-suit silhouette, and soften without detracting from the elegance of a mini dress. As for the classic, but timeless, pointed pumps, they’re perfect for dresses that reach at least below the knee. See our article on how to choose the right shoes for your dress.

Plain nail polish

Another timeless trend, but one that’s really catching on in recent years! If you’re looking for impeccable nails with minimal maintenance, gel or semi-permanent nail polish are the perfect solution. We avoid French manicures and patterns, which are no longer in vogue except for very assertive looks. We prefer nails that aren’t too long if they’re varnished, and short when they’re bare.

Flowy dresses

The mid-thigh length on a dress cinched at the waist has definitely been out for years, as have skater skirts or skirts with a lot of holding. The trend in cutting is towards less is more, fluidity and deconstruction. Sleepdresses, which made a grand reappearance last year, are still on the agenda this season, but choosing more worked models that are less intransigent on the silhouette is often a better option. Very short trapeze dresses are also in vogue this year for a retro look.

Spontaneous hairstyle

Complex chignons are definitely out of the question, with hair either loose, worn in a half-tail or casually tied back, no matter what your length. If you like your face uncluttered, the alternative is a ponytail or a simple low bun with the hair plated and lacquered.

Imposing jewels

You can indulge yourself with jewelry: large earrings are back in fashion, as are bracelets and necklaces, which can be both slender and imposing. If your dress is simple, don’t hesitate to opt for beautiful jewels (and not necessarily in sets, as mismatched is a good idea). Alternating fine jewels with larger pieces is a guarantee that you won’t make a style mistake.

Oversized jackets

It’s the trend that lasts and that we love for its comfort! To finish off your look, choose a maxi jacket: leather, denim, trench…they’re perfect for the cooler start and end of your social season. In midsummer, opt for a loose-fitting suit jacket or a large scarf to drape over your shoulders.

As you can see, this year’s focus is on natural, worked yet comfortable looks, with a hint of 90’s-inspired retro and cheerful colors. It’s the perfect way to indulge in your search for the ideal looks for weddings, ceremonies, christenings or summer rallies!
